an UPDATE ON THE OFFICE DUE TO HURRICANE HELENE
TravelTax is up and running full steam after Hurricane Helene brought plenty of challenges for the past 2 weeks. Because our area was hit so hard, the IRS has extended the filing deadline for all our clients who had an extension for October 15th.
The extension only removes a failure to file by the October 15th deadline. It does not remove interest / penalties for not paying the taxes that were due on April 15th. It is imperative that your return be filed asap if you owe any tax. We are committed to completing all returns before the IRS closes the e-file system for it’s annual maintenance around November 18 (date TBD). We want to encourage all those who have started working on the workbook to complete/ submit it as soon as possible so we can schedule your tax appointment as soon as possible.
Starting mid-November, we will be concentrating on helping clients who have multiple years of tax returns to file and who may need us to put through an Offer in Compromise to reduce tax liability. Our goal is to finish up all the 2023 returns before then. If you have any questions or challenges, please call the office (402-379-7818) so we can help.
