Our History and the name TravelTax
Why the name TravelTax? In college, I was a double major - Respiratory Therapy and Accounting. After graduation, I had a choice: work as a nationwide travel temporary in Respiratory Therapy or work for a healthcare consulting firm. I chose to travel (getting married first to a travel buddy) (see my travel career ). Along the way, I assisted co-travelers with their complicated multi-state tax returns and continued to receive referrals after settling in the Washington DC area, What was once a seasonal hobby turned into busy winters. One client told me that he was glad that I understood "travel taxes" ... hence the name TravelTax.
Today, I reside in Norfolk, Nebraska (the late Johnny Carson's hometown). My wife, a former H&R Block employee, is an ICU nurse. My practice serves a substantial number of domestic/ international travel medical professionals, Canadian cross border workers, foreign missionaries, local individuals and businesses. As an Enrolled Agent, I represent clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities in audits and problem resolutions. Lastly, I am a regular contributor to three travel related publications plus one in Canada.
Based in the Midwest, TravelTax strives to serve clients with a commitment to honesty, respect and hard work that is common in this part of the country.
